Our first assignment has landed and I enjoyed it immensely. It is the main character from my current book and this helped flesh her out some more:
Hey, my name is Charli Niven. My ideal is to be learning and cataloguing all the info I can find on ancient tech recovered by the org. On the side I do whatever is required to keep the peace between neighbouring other-naturals and humans. However my creator Starstryder seems to have other ideas, I am in more freaking trouble than I can handle half the time. Admittedly when she discovered me I wasn't doing much, just coasting along happily for the most part. I had just lost my entry level position that I have been "entering" into for the last three years because of my most recent man-mistake. So it was probably a good thing Starstryder found me but that might be Stockholm Syndrome talking right there.
She is far from perfect though, for one thing she can't decide who the bad guy is at the moment and boy does she tell me all about it. My opinion, pick one already! I'll fight whichever you send but for the love of chocolate decide! And she doesn't really share the chocolate either mind you, she says even though my constitution is fast it isn't that fast. Huh, I think she just wants it for herself. But she did give me a sentient pistol and what sort of girl doesn't love a kickass weapon like that? I think Starstryder came looking for me because the world is in trouble and I am unique. Family blood mutation came in handy there, she doesn't know who my dad is and why he has the mutation but I have faith in her figuring that bit out.
She has shown me some of her notes on what's in store for me and ooh boy all I can say is I am glad I took yoga classes. Starstryder is funny and she does give me some good lines but I am still trying to convince her that I need a good closing line when I kick a bad guy's butt. I think "Eat that!" would be good but she reckons that would make me look like a hothead. She's probably right but I just tend to get carried away when some icky thing tries to eat me. Anyway time for me to go work, Pryport Lake's residents need a sit-down.
